Curator Account Suspension

A detailed overview of why curator accounts may be suspended, what happens during a suspension, and how the review and reinstatement process works.

Updated this week

Why We Take Suspensions Seriously

We take curator suspensions very seriously because they are essential to protecting our artists and the integrity of the entire platform. Unfortunately, there are individuals who attempt to exploit the system through artificial streaming, fraudulent placements, or other dishonest behavior. These actions can harm artists directly - exposing them to mass takedowns, streaming penalties, and even permanent damage to their distribution profiles. By enforcing strict suspension policies, we ensure that every artist remains safe from malicious actors and that our ecosystem stays transparent, trustworthy, and compliant - something many other platforms fail to do.

1. Why Accounts Get Suspended

Curator accounts may be temporarily or permanently suspended for several reasons. The most common causes include:

  • Suspicious activity reported by artists, such as:

    • Artificial streaming or bot traffic

    • Unusually low engagement rates

    • Mass placements or bulk acceptances without genuine curation

  • On-platform misconduct, including:

    • Accepting or declining submissions without actually reviewing the song

    • Violating placement rules (e.g., removing songs early or placing below position 50)

    • Repeated breaches of curator duties or platform terms

Each case is individually reviewed by our Curator Team to determine whether the suspension is justified.

2. Suspension Process and Duration

When suspicious or non-compliant activity is detected, the curator account may be temporarily suspended while an internal investigation takes place.

  • The review process can take up to 30 days.

  • During this time, curators may submit evidence or explanations if they believe the suspension was a mistake.

  • You can contact our Support Team to provide documentation, screenshots, or clarification to assist the review.

3. What Happens During Suspension

During an active suspension:

  • You cannot receive or review new submissions.

  • You cannot accept or decline any pending songs.

  • All current placements are removed from playlists.

  • Your credits and payout requests are frozen until the investigation is complete.

These measures are necessary to protect artists and the integrity of the platform, especially in cases involving potential artificial streaming or fraudulent activity.

4. Possible Outcomes After Review

Once the investigation concludes, one of the following actions will be taken:

πŸ•’ Temporary Suspension Lifted

If no serious violation is confirmed, your account will be reinstated, and access to all features and credits will be restored.

🚫 Permanent Suspension

In cases of severe or repeated breaches, such as proven fraud, manipulation, or harm to other users, the account will be permanently suspended.
This decision will be accompanied by a formal written notice outlining the reasons and any applicable penalties.

5. Penalties and Enforcement

According to our Terms and Conditions, the following measures may apply during or after suspension:

  • Freezing of Credits: No withdrawals or transactions can occur until the matter is resolved.

  • Freezing of Payout Requests: All payout requests are paused temporarily, or permanently if the curator is found guilty of violations.

  • Combination of Penalties: Depending on the severity, multiple penalties (e.g., freezing + suspension) can be applied simultaneously.

All curators are notified in writing of any penalties imposed, along with the reason for the action and any available recourse.

βœ… Summary

Account suspensions are serious actions taken only after investigation and evidence review.
They exist to protect the platform, maintain trust among artists and curators, and ensure that every review and placement is genuine, fair, and compliant with our standards.
